2 free Detroit home repair programs re-open this month
Detroit reopened applications for its Critical Home Repair and Detroit LeadSafe Housing programs, with a single application window running September 9 through September 22. Mayor Mary Sheffield signed an executive order on September 8 appointing Heather Zygmontowicz to lead a citywide home repair effort, including an annual home repair census for at least five consecutive years. Income caps for a three-person household are $56,640 for Critical Home Repair and $75,500 for LeadSafe.
